Welcome back to Pause + Pray for Teachers | Recharge With Purpose, Part 2.
On our last episode, we spent time recharging in the Word together, releasing what we were carrying from last year and asking God to guide our plans for this one. But we ran out of time before we could close things out the way I wanted to.
So this is Part 2. We're picking back up to finish out our time together for the month with a word of encouragement and commissioning for the year ahead.
As we step fully into this school year, I share a few things I felt led to leave with you. Things I want you to carry with you as you go throughout the year, things to remember on the hard days and the good ones.
During this part of the prayer experience, I shared the following:
- Remember your why and revisit the vision God gave you for your classroom
- Go forth inside of your classroom and make a Kingdom impact right where you are
- Commit to being a doer of the Word, not just a hearer
- Embrace help, from God and from those He places in your path
- Rest in the truth that you are not alone, because God goes before you

Hello and welcome.
Speaker A:Welcome, welcome.
Speaker A:To pause and Pray.
Speaker A:We are still in the month of August.
Speaker A:This is part two of our August prayer call.
Speaker A:We covered so much earlier in the month that we didn't get to finish it out.
Speaker A:So we talked about prayer, praise and a lot of what God wanted to say to us in the month of August to help carry us throughout the year.
Speaker A:We had time to pray, pray together, but again, we didn't get to close it out and I felt God nudging me finish the call out.
Speaker A:So here we go, picking up where we left off.
Speaker A:We are in the month of August.
Speaker A:We are continuing to recharge with purpose, letting God strengthen us, letting him prepare us for what is ahead, and reminding us that whatever this year holds, we're walking through it with God.
Speaker A:We are not alone.
Speaker A:God is right there with us.
Speaker A:And the amazing thing about God, he is there with us, but he's also sending us people to help us.
Speaker A:Remember.
Speaker A:Give God control.
Speaker A:Allow him to lead you.
Speaker A:Allow him to use you in a mighty way this year.
Speaker A:Allow His Word to sustain you.
Speaker A:But in order for His Word to sustain you, you have to continue to to be in the Word of God.
Speaker A:And you want to allow His Word to sustain you even in those difficult moments that you may encounter.
Speaker A:So as we continue to navigate throughout the beginning of this new school year, there are again a few things that God has placed on my heart to share with you and we are going to go ahead and get started with that.
Speaker A:The first thing is remember your why and vision.
Speaker A:I want to encourage you.
Speaker A:Write your vision down.
Speaker A:Post it somewhere that you will see it.
Speaker A:And here's the thing, don't just post it.
Speaker A:You want to post it and you want to go over that vision.
Speaker A:Pray the Vision throughout your week.
Speaker A:Revisit the vision as often as possible, especially on those challenging days.
Speaker A:On those challenging days, don't forget what God has told you.
Speaker A:Go back to your why.
Speaker A:Go back to your vision and allow it to remind you of of why you are doing what you are doing.
Speaker A:So Habakkuk 2 verses 2 through 3amplified it says, then the Lord answered me and said, write the vision.
Speaker A:Engrave it plainly on clay tablets so that the one who reads it will run.
Speaker A:For the vision is yet for the appointed future time, it hurries toward the goal of fulfillment.
Speaker A:It will not fail.
Speaker A:Even though it delays.
Speaker A:Wait patiently for it because it will certainly come.
Speaker A:It will not delay.
Speaker A:So again, keep the vision before you pray the vision on an ongoing Basics Remember God what He has spoken to you.
Speaker A:He wants it to come to pass.
Speaker A:But again, we have a part to play in it.
Speaker A:So again, revisit that vision.
Speaker A:And also I want you to to remind you the vision that God gives to you, it may not be the exact, it's not going to be the exact same vision he gives to the person next door to you.
Speaker A:So, or again or the teacher down the hallway.
Speaker A:But again, remember, don't compare your yourself, your classroom, your pace, your season to someone else's stay in your God ordained lane.
Speaker A:What he is building in your room this year, it is yours to steward.
Speaker A:So don't go looking at someone else classroom trying to say man, why am I not doing that?
Speaker A:No, do what God is telling you to do.
Speaker A:Now yes, I do believe we can get ideas from others, we can learn from others, but we want to also stay true to what God is telling us to do.
Speaker A:So again, make sure you're not comparing yourself to anyone else, but be uniquely who God has called you to be inside that classroom.
Speaker A:Another thing that God is doing, he's commissioning us to go forth in our classroom and make a kingdom impact.
Speaker A:But here's the thing.
Speaker A:In order to make the kingdom impact, we, we have to sit with Him.
Speaker A:We have to see what it is that he desires to do through us.
Speaker A:Joshua 1:8 9.
Speaker A:This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read and meditate on it day and night.
Speaker A:So that you may be careful to do everything in accordance with all that is written in it.
Speaker A:For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will be successful.
Speaker A:So again, we want to make sure we are in the Word on an ongoing basis because we want to meditate on His Word day and night.
Speaker A:And as we meditate on his word, he will give us wisdom.
Speaker A:He will give us insight for this school year.
Speaker A:He will show us, do this, don't do that, respond this way.
Speaker A:Go say this to this student.
Speaker A:We want to allow him to guide us.
Speaker A:We want to allow him to be the one to lead us so we can be successful.
Speaker A:And then the next version verse says, have I not commanded you?
Speaker A:Be strong and courageous.
Speaker A:Do not be terrified or dismayed, intimidated.
Speaker A:For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Speaker A:So he is with you inside the classroom.
Speaker A:He is with you as you're walking up down the hallway.
Speaker A:He is always right there with you.
Speaker A:Allow him to guide you.
Speaker A:Trust him every step of the way.
Speaker A:And remember, you are not just teaching, you're not just managing the classroom.
Speaker A:You, you are carrying a kingdom assignment to shift atmospheres for his glory and to make a lasting impact on the lives of each student inside of your classroom.
Speaker A:So again, go forth and make the impact he has called you to make.
Speaker A:And we want to be doers of the Word of God.
Speaker A:Because God, he'll sometimes tell us to do this.
Speaker A:We'll read His Word and be, oh yes, I'm going to do that.
Speaker A:But here's the thing.
Speaker A:We don't want to forget to do what God has told us to do.
Speaker A:So we want to be doers of the Word.
Speaker A:It says in James 1:22,25 but be doers of the Word and not hearers, only deceiving yourselves.
Speaker A:For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in the mirror.
Speaker A:But he observes himself.
Speaker A:He goes away and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
Speaker A:But he who looks into the person perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hero, but a doer of the work, the one will be, this one will be blessed in what he does.
Speaker A:So again, be a doer of the Word of God.
Speaker A:Whatever God instructs you to do, do it.
Speaker A:Sometimes it might not make sense, natural sense to you, but it makes faith.
Speaker A:And if God is saying to do it, we have to trust him along the journey and trust that that we're going to get the re the result that he has for us because we are doing what he is instructing us to do.
Speaker A:So again, release control.
Speaker A:Because sometimes God might tell you to do something that you usually don't do.
Speaker A:But if it's from God, I encourage you, go forth.
Speaker A:Act in quick obedience.
Speaker A:The next thing that God placed on my heart to tell you all is embrace help from God and those that he places in our path.
Speaker A:So again, you don't have to do this alone.
Speaker A:You were never meant to do it alone, because God is right there with you and he will send the help that is needed.
Speaker A:Hebrews 13:6 says so we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, the Lord is my helper in time of need.
Speaker A:I will not be afraid.
Speaker A:What will man do to me?
Speaker A:So so again, the Lord is your helper.
Speaker A:Psalms 54, verse 4.
Speaker A:Surely God is my help.
Speaker A:The Lord is the one who sustains me.
Speaker A:So again, allow him to sustain you.
Speaker A:Isaiah 43:2 when you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
Speaker A:And through the rivers they shall not overwhelm you.
Speaker A:When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Speaker A:So as you go throughout this school year, regardless of what bumps you hit in the road, you it will not take you out.
Speaker A:Allow God to help you navigate through it.
Speaker A:Allow him to walk this journey with you again.
Speaker A:You are not alone.
Speaker A:God goes before you.
Speaker A:Deuteronomy 31:8.
Speaker A:The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you.
Speaker A:He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Speaker A:Do not be afraid.
Speaker A:Do not be discouraged.
Speaker A:Go forth in that classroom and do what God has called you to do.
Speaker A:Shift atmospheres for his glory.
Speaker A:Make that kingdom impact that God has called you to make.
Speaker A:And do not be moved by what you see with your natural eyes, but be moved by his word.
Speaker A:Be moved by what he has told you.
Speaker A:And again, speak the words that he gives to you to speak.
Speaker A:Speak to those situations that are not going the way that God told you that they're supposed to go.
Speaker A:Speak.
Speaker A:Use your words, the words that God gives you.
Speaker A:And again, as you journey throughout this school year, here are some prayer points that I encourage you to pray.
Speaker A:And we're going to pray these before we get off today.
Speaker A:Pray.
Speaker A:God, show me anything I need to know about these students as we journey throughout the school year.
Speaker A:Because here's the thing.
Speaker A:God knows them best.
Speaker A:He knows you best.
Speaker A:And he can reveal what he wants to reveal to you.
Speaker A:But here's the thing, God can reveal it, but we have to have the ear to hear.
Speaker A:Our heart has to be open to, to receive what it is that he wants to tell us.
Speaker A:He wants to give us insight, but we have to be in a place to receive the insight, to receive the revelation that he wants to give to us.
Speaker A:So we want our eyes to be open.
Speaker A:Ask God to remove any blinders.
Speaker A:We want him to show us how to reach and teach each one of our students.
Speaker A:Show us how to love them, how to build relationships with them, build their confidence and increase their love for learning.
Speaker A:We.
Speaker A:We want to ask God for the blueprint, our vision that he has for our classroom.
Speaker A:So let's pray this together.
Speaker A:Well, Heavenly Father, we praise you.
Speaker A:We thank you, Father, for this school year.
Speaker A:We thank you, Lord God, for this year.
Speaker A:We thank you that you are the God that knows all things.
Speaker A:So we're asking you, Father, to show us reveal anything to us that we need to know about this school year.
Speaker A:Show us what our classroom management needs to look like.
Speaker A:Show us those things that we need to know about our students.
Speaker A:Show us how to help them grow and learn and how to get along with one another.
Speaker A:Show us those things that we need to know.
Speaker A:It says in your word, if any of you lack wisdom that we can action, you'll give done to us without finding any fault within us.
Speaker A:So we ask you Father, for the wisdom.
Speaker A:We ask you for the insight.
Speaker A:We think that you will teach and instruct us in the way that we should go on this year.
Speaker A:We're trusting in you Lord, with all of our hearts.
Speaker A:We lean not into our own understanding, but in all of our ways.
Speaker A:We are acknowledging you and we are asking you Father, to show us the insight, show us the pathway.
Speaker A:And we think that the path of the just shines brighter and brighter to the present day.
Speaker A:So we thank you, Lord God, that this year is going to be the best year.
Speaker A:And we thank you, Lord God, for showing us how to reach and teach each student, Lord God, inside of our classrooms.
Speaker A:Show us how to build the relationships with them.
Speaker A:Show us those things, oh God, that are going on in their lives, oh God, that we need to pray for, Lord God, and again show us those things that we need to put a praise on Lord God for.
Speaker A:We praise you right now, Lord God, for this year, Lord God is going to be in Ephesians 3 and 20 year.
Speaker A:And we thank you, Lord God, for showing us how to build confidence within our students.
Speaker A:Lord God, show us us what we need to know.
Speaker A:And we thank you, Lord God, for downloading into us the blueprint.
Speaker A:Lord God, show us the vision that you have for our classroom.
Speaker A:Show us the visions you have for our students, the vision you have for us as teachers, Lord God, show us what we need to be praying, Lord God, for our schools, for our students, for their families.
Speaker A:So God, show us everything that we need to know.
Speaker A:And as you show us those things that we need to know, I pray that we act in quick obedience, Lord God, and we execute, Lord God, as you instruct us to execute even those things, Lord God, it might not make natural sense, but it makes faith.
Speaker A:And we will act on faith.
Speaker A:We speak to those mountains that stand in our way.
Speaker A:They will not overwhelm us because we speak to them.
Speaker A:The mountains, they come tumbling down.
Speaker A:So we thank you Father, for what you're doing.
Speaker A:And we again we surrender this year into your hands.
Speaker A:We ask that you take over, that you have your way.
Speaker A:We thank you for a fresh wind, Lord God, flowing, Lord God, throughout our classrooms, Lord God, removing everything out of our room that needs to be removed.
Speaker A:Enemy, you are evicted.
Speaker A:You cannot reside in our classroom.
Speaker A:Our classroom is for God.
Speaker A:We we have Kingdom classrooms.
Speaker A:So we thank you Father, for saturating our rooms with Your peace with your love and we will continue to look to the hill where our help comes from.
Speaker A:We will keep our eyes focused on you.
Speaker A:We will not go go weary and well doing but we will continue to run the race that is set forth before us.
Speaker A:And we give you glory and we give you honor.
Speaker A:In Jesus name we pray.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:So again thank you all so much for joining me.
